Using this tool
Test a text encryption/decryption round trip using a demo passphrase.
Actions: Encrypt · Decrypt
Example
This is a format preview, not decryptable ciphertext. Decrypt the actual complete result with the same algorithm and demo passphrase to recover the input.
Example action and settings
Action: Encrypt Passphrase: public-demo-only Algorithm / format: AES-256-GCM (recommended, BW1 format)
Input / action
Hello, 世界!
Result / expected behavior
BW1.310000.<salt>.<iv>.<ciphertext-and-tag> (randomized envelope).
Available options: Passphrase · Algorithm / format
Scope and limitations
- Plaintext is limited to 700,000 UTF-8 bytes; 310,000 PBKDF2 iterations can take time.
- AES-GCM decryption accepts only this tool’s BW1 format and requires Web Crypto.
Common mistakes
- Do not demonstrate with real passphrases. Legacy AES/TripleDES/Rabbit/RC4 formats lack integrity checks and are not the default GCM format.
