Scope and limitations

  • The UI uses six-digit SHA1 TOTP with a 30-second period and accepts the current ±30-second window.
  • Requires canonical Base32; provisioning QR codes contain the secret.

Common mistakes

  • Never enter or share real authenticator secrets; local matching is not server authentication and provides no replay protection.
