Input / action
192.0.2.25/24
Result / expected behavior
Input address: 192.0.2.25 Prefix length: 24 Network address: 192.0.2.0 Last address / broadcast: 192.0.2.255 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Wildcard mask: 0.0.0.255 Total addresses: 256 Usable hosts: 254 First usable address: 192.0.2.1 Last usable address: 192.0.2.254 Network CIDR: 192.0.2.0/24 Historical address class: C Binary address: 11000000.00000000.00000010.00011001
Scope and limitations
- IPv4 only; omitting the mask defaults to /24.
- /31 uses two point-to-point addresses; /32 is a single host.
Common mistakes
- Do not use noncontiguous masks or leading-zero octets; counts do not establish allocation or reachability.
